I donot particularly understand your question, but still the knowledge I have, will share with you.
Firstly the GPS that is global positioning system is not used in India. Our cars are not equipped with GPS receivers. We are still in the mode of developing. So I don't understand what you mean by using GPS tracking system. Either you want information on how to use it in car to find places or you want to track a car by it.
So I will try and answer both of the probabilities, which ever suits you.
GPS receiver is equipped in today cars and this technology is used in foreign countries. It makes us easy to find out a place. The gps system consists of a map of the city where it uses satellite to locate the position of the place. We feed the place info. on the LCD and the system guides us which turn to take on the next street and so on.
Now, coming back to GPS Car tracking system, then this technology is not equipped in our cars when it is manufactured. So you need to buy it for your car. This tracking system is like a security alarm for your car. Incase it gets stolen you can track it easily by use of it. You are provided with a receiver at home and also some equipment is installed in your car. At home you can easily find the location of your car on the LCD which shows the map and a dot which tells the position of your car. The car navigator system sends data constantly to the satellite which tells it the position of it.

its very simple what you neede is a GPS device only
there are differnet types of GPS devices some are very chip which cost you around 1500/- but they don't have LCD screen for postioning your car this type of GPS can be used with Laptops
Other kind of devices are those with LCD screen which also have city maps for tracking
I think this will be good for you. It will give you exact position of your car where are you at particular time.

Global Positioning System is In India. which costs around Rs. 12000. Just purchase this and install in your car. U can trace the road to go to your destination. I had tried that. further u can track ATMs, banks, hotels, hospital etc in India. GPS maps contains almost all roads in India. for more details visit http://www.mapmyindia.com/ here u will get details of GPS for car, for mobile etc... currently in india GPS was distributed by kallatra technologies in connection with Holux mostly in south india.there are other companies all r using maps from mapmyindia.

GPS is the global positioning system now a days it is used in india. if we want then we can attach it with our car but it is costly. Most of our fishermen's boats are equipped with the GPS receivers.

In india our local cars are not manufactured with GPS system in built but if we want then we can place it in our car. with imported cars like BMW ,VolksWagon, Audi, etc. we can order them with or without GPS in india.
with the help of GPS in our car we can find roads and locations of our destinations. and we can also track our car from remote location to know its current location using receiver's signature because each receiver is having its unique signature.

actually gps means global positioning system, here itself we can understand what is the use of the gps, which tells the location of the thing which is equipped with gps sensor. in foreign countries gps system arranged, and it is very easy to find out the routes and also any danger
for gps tracking in cars actually we should have one sensor should be placed in car for transmiting information regarding global position, and at the same time there should be one reciever i.e. through satellite for example sim in a mobile has that technology.
