How total salary of 'Central Government' is calculated?

How total salary of 'Central Government' is calculated? How different class of employee i.e. CLASS-1, CLASS-2, CLASS-3 and CLASS-4 gets their salary calculated from their respective grade pay and pay band. What types of allowances are given to them? and Why it is so?

Salary of Central Government employees consists following major componets:-

1. Basic
2. DA (Dearness Allowance)
3. HRA (House Rent Allowance)
4. CCA (City Compensatory allowance)

As per the sixth pay commission Central Government Employees are fitted in various pay bands and also eligible for grade pay depending on their position.

Here are the details:-
(1) Basic + Pay Grade as per sixth pay rules(2400,2800,3200,3600)
(2) DA (58% right now of basic)
(3) HRA(20% of the basic, for A and B grade cities,for C grade it's 10%)
(4) Medical allowance--100 rupees
from these, 100 rupees will be dedicated as group-insurance and 200 rupees will be dedicated as professional tax.
All these are as per rules and regulations of the sixth pay commission.

The pay of central government employee involves:

Grade Pay + Basic pay + HRA + DA

Its Basic pay+ grade pay as per sixth pay rule
DA, HRA, MEDICAL as per sixth pay rule.
Beside this, other perks and allowances as per central government rules and bonus ex-Gratia yearly basis or on Diwali or any other festivals.
LTA allowances as per Central Government rule.

salary is based on sixth pay and DA
suppose one have pay band 9300-34000 and basic pay is 10600 this basic changes on sept. month. grade pay is 4400 then total of both is 15000 this is pay now add DA to it. this is pecentage of pay
if DA is 30% this also increases sixth month.
now 15000*30%=4500
add this to pay =19500
add HRA that is 10% according to city or place of living changes this is percentage of pay
now =15000*10%=1500
total=21000
there are other allowance related to services added and some amount debited
like GPF service charge etc then final is calculated.

Class I II III etc have different pay band and grad pay according to that this is calculated.
