Red chilies contain high amounts of vitamin C and carotene (provitamin A).
Yellow and especially green chilies (which are essentially unripe fruit) contain a considerably lower amount of both substances.
Reasonable consumption of the chillies helps in digestion and anything excess might lead into ulcer or stomach burn.
It can also acts as Pain killer by stimulating the release of endorphins that are natural pain killers.
It also helps in reducing the risk of cancer. The vitamin C, beta-carotene and folic acid found in chillie helps in reducing the risk of colon cancer.

As far as I know, regarding food items, anything which is green is the best..
Reason is, green colour implies more beta carotene, more flavinoids, more anti oxidants, more endorphins.
Red chilli is responsible most of the time for peptic ulcers.
So, i suggest everyone to decrease the use of red chilli and use green chilli in it's place, wherever you can.
