|Sir try downloading VLC media player again. It's freeware and can downloaded from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html|
VLC is not good with playing 3gp. You should try Quicktime media player.

Please update your VLC media player or download the latest version of the player. Please check if the option "enable video" is checked or not. If not please check that. You can go to preferences in tools and look for this option in "video" tab. If problem still persists please uninstall and reinstall the player. Since you are saying that you are able to see those videos in windows media player, the problem solely lies with VLC only and VLC is very good player in playing almost all formats of videos. Hope this will fix your issue.

|VLC media player is the best option to view lots of video formats files. Presently if you are using VLC and still not able to view the video then do the following steps I am sure you will be satisfied.|
1) VLC media player - tools- preferences
2) preferences - video - output
3) set output to OpenGL video output
Originally this output is set to default but you have to choose OpenGL video output from the drop down list and then click on save button

Clear registry using a registry cleaner.
Install an updated version of VLC from its site.
