One of my friend has got 58.00% in 12th Science (Physics, Chemistry, Maths group). Group percentage is 54.00%. He was good in study, he got 92.00% in the 10th (SSC) standard. However, due to some personal problem he was unable to study in 12th with full concentration. Also he has given the Engineering CET exam, but no hopes for good marks in it. Actually, he planned to do Engineering in Computer Science. As his percentage is very low, the admission in reputed college will not be possible. So for future studies what would be the good option for him? Whether Diploma in Computer Science and then Engineering or BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications (degree) and then Master of Computer Applications (degree)?
If you any other suggestion apart from it then let me know.

Hi friend since you have completed 12+2, I will advise you to take admission for engineering college. There are lots of institutes, select best of them which are available. When we think of going to engineering then reputed college is anyone's first choice but if could not make it to such college then leave it. Why? Let me explain if you have not scored in HSC then it is ok now and there is no second chance for you. If you complete your engineering degree from any college with first class then you can have very good career in engineering. Don't think about mistakes in pasts, make plans for your future.

There are two best choices for you if your friend is good in science subjects then he can opt for either engineering or B.SC . Both has got good options to get a good jobs specially in government if you can be able to maintain good scoring throughout semesters or year. Then in that case , your 12th percentage doesn't matter much. If you are feeling somewhere weak in science subjects then you can go for commerce or arts subjects and then MBA which the the best option now a days.

hi, Your friend is absolutely in the same state in which I was two years before. I had an engineering degree from random college or science degree from NIT for my choice. And I chose NIT.
Think logically, in reputed college you will have better facilities for your academic research and other such grants. What I see for your friend is:
1. Diploma (Polytechnic) based on class 10 results. This will be sheer waste of 2 years but will get admission in best college. After that you can get admission in 2nd year of engineering depending on your marks.
2. Admission to B.Sc Computer Science: No waste of year. But no reputed institutions run this course.
3. Integrated 5 years M.Sc: This course recently started in many NITs and IISc and offers degree in Physics, Mathematics, & Chemistry. This is much interesting and a perfect choice for those who don't wish to waste year. They have their own entrance test.
All the best
