This looks more like a request for feedback rather than seeking solution to a problem. It may be better discussed in Forum.

Dear Sir,
Use of software technology in medical science is in use for a long period of time. But, it is prevalent in countries like USA, China, England, etc. It still has not made its way into the clinical department of India in a big way.
Software technology in this field, will never be able to take place of a doctor but yes it helps a doctor for faster response in his work. Many companies have already launched their products in the market, but it is still to be accepted by most of the doctors in India. Softwares such as 'Easy Clinic' is hailed to be as India's number one clinical software and it is used by some of the top hospitals of the country, like Fortis, Apollo, Lilavati, etc. The software has a number of features starting from billing and payments to generating clinical research reports and statistics. These softwares can be of great use to doctors, but it is found that, specialists in this field find it complex to use or handle. Apart from these special softwares, some are used in daily basis, like to check heart beat, breath intake measurement, blood loss, etc. Very few cases have been recorded for incorrect response and these are mostly used in urban areas. India is still light years behind in using software technology in the medical field to its top most level. More than the patients, its the doctors who get benefited and so it should be used in large numbers and usher in new milestones in the field of medical science.
With regards, Pratik.

Dear friend, very nice query. There is a lot of scope for the technology (software and others) to intervene in medical procedures to ease the procedures. Make them rapid an automated, saves cost an time. Sometimes as the first option, softwares are ruling the medical field.
Softwares used in CT machines, the most important investigation. Digital X-rays are more neat and legible and the there is sometimes no need of wasting the film, can interpret on screen and diagnose. You can store the images for future reference, transfer them to data storage devices. All digital BP machines, glucometres use some software. Simple programs to calculate BMI(body mass index), calorie requirements in day to day life are helping common people. Digitalized spirometry is one more example. You can design a software to interpret the spirometric results. The list never ends....
