Dear Sir/Madam,
Slowing down of Internet connection has become a persistent problem nowadays and there can be a number of reasons leading to retardation of Internet speed. How much India boasts of having 4G connection, it is still light years behind in case of net surfing. Still, there are ways to boost up the net connection, both manually and by using softwares. Some of the possible ways are as follows: Deleting junk files: Junk files are those files which becomes invalid or corrupted and eats up your computer space. These files can be temp files, cookies, web histories, etc. To delete them, go to Control Panel and then click Internet Options. Click on Delete browsing history to delete those files. To delete temporary files, type %temp% in the Run command and select the files you want to delete. There are softwares like Glary Utilities, C Cleaner which deletes all these files just by clicking a single button. Change your DNS server: Your network will surely speed up if you change your current DNS server. Experts say to chose Google DNS or Open DNS but again some say it works only in USA. There are a number of DNS systems to chose from and so use a software called Namebench which will simplify your work. Connect to the Internet and run the software and it will go through a number of tests and benchmarks and give you a detailed information on the best DNS server to opt for. The software recommended me to go for Ultra DNS and the speed increased to a great extent. Internet speeding up softwares: There are quite a few softwares out there, promising to increase speed up by 100%, but most of them fall short to their promises. But there are quite a few softwares which offer good performance. Try, the TCP Optimizer. Download it, install it and then follow the instructions to increase your internet speed. Another one you can try, is the Auslogics Speed Boost. It comes with a number of features for maintaining your PC and your internet connection. But it is a shareware, which means it is not for free. Chose the right browser: According to numerous tests, it has been seen, for Windows users, the best performing web browser is Google Chrome and next to it is Opera. Fast loading up of pages, fast boot time and other features make these two the preferred web browsers among all. Avoid using Safari, Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Following the above said points, will surely boost up your Internet connection and you would be able to enjoy surfing the net as you used to. Remember, to keep on deleting cookies, temp files and other junk files on a daily basis and update your Operating System at regular intervals.
With regards, Pratik.

Hi,
Using Reliance Netconnect or any other mobile internet service is highly unreliable. Since its a wireless connection, there will be issues of slow speed due to network coverage and connection drop outs.
First of all perform a speed test at www.speedtest.net. It will give you the exact speed you are getting. If you are getting a normal speed (around 300 Mbps) on your Reliance Netconnect, there could be a problem with your system. If the speed result is less than you expect, it could be a problem with the network. Try checking if there is any connection drop outs by going to Command prompt and typing the command: 'ping www.google.com /t' (without the quotes) and check for connection time outs. If you see something like 'connection timed out' for some results then there is again a problem with the network.
If you are getting normal speed and no connection drop outs then now is the time to check your system. You can perform the above steps as given by Pratik. If that still doesn't work, perform the steps given at: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/cool-websites/speed-up-internet-connection/. This will increase the speed upto 10%.
Even after doing all this, if there is no change then get in touch with the customer service and see what happens.
All the best.

Your problem can be due to many problems. Some of these problems are as: i) The are or locality in which you live may not be having a proper reliance network and the network may be changing and mostly feeble. ii) You may have opted for a cheap plan which will give you good data amount but not speed. iii) The USB portal you are putting in your modem may be working weak.
Solutions you can opt are: i) Get a good plan. If possible get a good data plan with good speed and not only data usage. ii) Have a good look over antivirus and internet security software. They sometimes slow down the speed. iii) You can opt for 3G data plan of some other company. 3G plans are with better speed now a days. iv) Use Google chrome plus. It is the best internet browser these days.

Dear friend, I suggest to speed up your internet speed on the system. 1. Your system must be with higher memory and if possible 32bit. Internet runs faster on 32 bit than 64 bit os operating system. 2. Generally internet runs faster on the system with minimum attributed viruses or malwares etc. Please try to remove these with good antivirus. 3. Try your internet connection with good web browser like google chrome which is the faster than others.

Sorry, but I beg to differ from Manoj's point of view. "Internet runs faster on 32 bit than 64 bit os operating system" does not at all hold true. I used to have a 32bit OS and now have a 64bit OS and this change did not affect my internet connection to a slight Mbps. Your computer can face problems, if you try to install a 64bit OS on a 32bit processor but there is no link with Internet connection. Even if you find it somewhere on the web, it is not true. Tried and tested.
With regards, Pratik.

Reason for slow Internet connection can be categorized in two factors. 1) ISP problem 2) PC problem
1) ISP Problem : First check you are getting the download speed as per the plan you choose. You can test your download/upload speed here www.speedtest.net. In most cases the problem is from ISP side as they don't give the download/upload as per chosen plan. Also make sure you haven't exceeded your have a high speed monthly quota if any in your plan. Keep one more thing in mind if you have recently moved from one state to other state then in that case internet speed mnay vary.
2) PC problem : If your USB dongle passed through first test then it must related your PC/laptop problem. Simplest way to confirm it use your USB dongle on other PC/laptop to check whether its working fine or not. Now in your laptop just delete all cookies and cache from your browser. If you a anti virus installed in your PC update it latest virus definition and scan whole computer in safe mode, you can enable safe mode by pressing F8 key while starting the laptop. DNS server or TCP/IP optimizer are all secondary things which won't give you significant increase in Internet speed connection. Ya off course you can't get a download speed more than your plan allows you to do.

Since you got good speed before and now you are getting low speed and frequent disconnections so it clearly indicates that there is something wrong with the connection itself. So talk to the customer care and complaint about it. You can try the following but I strongly feel that you must talk to reliance people: 1. Change your DNS servers(google it ). 2. Clear your cache(I recommend to use ccleaner instead). 3. Look for other applications like utorrent, windows update, etc.(from task manager) that may be using a lot of bandwidth. 4. Update drivers.

Hi, i am a regular user of Reliance netconnect and i have no problem so far. First of all you need to search your computer of various softwares including Windows update, flash player update , java update , antivirus updates and other programs requiring internet connection and you should set it to manual (i.e not to be updated automatically.) Secondly there is certain cap limits in reliance plans and if you cross that amount of data ,You will get very low speeds upto 144 kb/ps. Thirdly In user interface of reliance netconnect , go to settings and see that No dns is used. you can try disconeccting and switching from HYBRID mode to BROADBAND + / NETCONNECT +. Lastly Check your browser settings and In advanced settings check that the it is selected to use SYSTEM PROXY SETTINGS. try logging in here and Checking your data usage and your active plan for Speed cap limits :- http://myservices.relianceada.com/launchAMSS.do and i guess there is no such utility that can boost your internet speeds . it all depends on factors stated above.
