How to deal with insomnia

Im not actually a workaholic, and I try to steer clear of too much stress but Im still unable to get a sound sleep at night. Suggest some methods to tackle this problem which is affecting my performance in everyday tasks and chores.

Sleep is very important for efficient functioning of the body. Deprivation of sleep may have grave repercussions including obesity, headaches, hallucination, depression etc.
Therefore its very important to get sound sleep of at least 6 hours.

You can try following measures to counter insomnia:

1. Keep at least 2 hour gap between supper and bed time. Eating right before sleeping will affect your metabolism which in turn will affect sleeping pattern.

2. Do regular exercise. Never do it before sleeping as the adrenaline produced may make it all the way more harder for you to sleep.

3. Don't sleep during daytime. Refrain from taking naps as you will find it difficult to sleep at night if you do so.

4. Avoid drinks and beverages that contain caffeine as a content, especially in the evening or before bedtime.

5. Make your bedroom a comfortable place to sleep, remove anything that creates stress on your mind. For example I can't really sleep if I hear the tik-tok of a clock, so I got rid of it.

6. 1 or half hour before sleeping do activities that relax your mind like meditation, reading etc.

If above activities don't help immediately see a doctor because it is very important to sleep properly. Not only you will find your work efficiency decreased but you can also face health problems. So don't ignore this issue for too long if it persists.

First you should change your food. Take food which gives proper Nutritional. Do Yoga and meditation daily in morning. In night you make practice of writing notes or dairy, in diary write all your thoughts and worry. I am sure that by changing your food habit you will get a great result.

Insomnia is the problem from which many suffer. It is a common problem. Insomnia generally occurs when a person is too tired, has a lot of anxiety which he/she is unable to cope with. Stress, strain, depression or anxiety play different roles in adding restlessness in a person's life.

To get rid of all the discomfort it is important to make changes in the lifestyle. Get up early and maintain a sleep time. Perform yoga, exercises or aerobics. Brisk walk early in the morning, you will feel fresh, happy and content.

Leave all the junk and fast food. Stick to simple substantial energy giving food. Fruits, green leafy fresh vegetables and whole wheat grains and cereals should be your choice over oily, spicy food or polished grains.

Milk, dairy products, appropriate quantity of meat, fish should be taken. Before sleep time, one should eat light food with a glass of warm milk. Meditation, reading a Holy book before sleep time is a good idea. Having a warm shower before going to bed is a good practice. These will aid you get good sleep.

If you do not get sleep still do not stay lying on the bed. Get up utilize your time. Watch a good movie, hear a nice song or read a good novel in the library of your home. Go to bed when you feel sleepy.

Sleep is very important for good health and life but you don't need to worry about it too much. Its a good gift to mankind so no need to worry about it. If its not coming, let it be not come but you don't worry. First things first start early to go to the bed and not let everybody slept then you are coming back and going to sleep as that will definitely not help. Second thing love your parents, wife, kids I mean family and relax your self. Don't be too ambitious, think of today and leave it perfectly, tomorrow is not in your hand.(Go to forum and you will find a topic 'is this world going to end by 2012') so what is your role in it? nothing so you don't need to worry about future. Future is a destiny combined with your hard work but for bigger things you need a luck a support from the creator so need not worry too much for big things. You can manipulate a producer a director to launch you as a hero but you cannot manipulate an audience so you will be a failure if its destined to be so. Don't put to much negativity in your self and be straight, don't lie and help others, help poor people and you will know that this life is not for yours as it is for others so you will never be a looser. Love your home in that way that you are eager to comeback to home and not that way that after nobody to spare time then you are coming back home. Home is the most beautiful place on earth so love it, love your family with a true heart and I am sure this problem will go. This problem starts only when somebody becomes so selfish, that he can't think beyond himself so he start digging problem in himself. I am getting darker, thinner, my muscles are weak, my body is weak, forget all this just bring some positivism in your self and live life perfectly. The sleeping pills are a no no no for anybody in the situation. Read some books before sleeping or a slow music with very light volume can also brings a good sleep. Have a light meal and drink a glass of cold milk.

A cup of milk added water can help to get sleep, you can take milk 1 hour before sleep. Try to read books that divert your mind from work load to a different topic which can help you to get sleep.

Don't eat over oily or spicy food during the evening or at night time. Don't think too much before sleeping, you just need to understand that this time is allotting for sleep and not for any other task.
