Hai Bhupesh,
I am also confused. Many people say that viswakarma puja is celebrated on september 17th every year and some say that it is celebrated on the day after Diwali. Actually in places like Karnataka, Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orrisa, Tripura viswakarma puja is on september 17th and others celebrate the same on very next day of Diwali. Not only hindus but all professionals worship viswakarma and the method and dates are differnt. Some refer to lunar calendar and some gregorian calendar just like people celebrating Birthdays according to date and birth star. As per lunar calendar it is celebrated on the first day of the lunar calendar(hen an astronomical new moon occurs in a particular time zone)

Viswakarma Pooja has been dedicated to the universal divine architect of Hind Lord Viswakarma. The Viswakarma Pooja is being celebrated every year on September 17. Majority of other Hindu festivals won't fall in the same day every year as it depends on lunar calendar and planetary movements. But every year the Viswakarma Pooja falls on the very same date that is 17 th of September. Normally the date of Viswakarma pooja is calculated on the basis of sun transit. Viswakarma Pooja is celebrated on the last day of Bhadra the Bengali month. For to say more easily, on the day when the sun transits from the Leo sign to Virgo sign. Viswakarma Pooja is mostly celebrated in states Orissa, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Tripura, Assam and some parts of East India.
