I am an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) student I think my opinion will help you. In my experience the aviation sector in India is growing but for getting job it is really a difficult task. I will tell you about my course. An AME is an engineering who is doing maintenance work for aircrafts. Every aircraft operator needs AME's to certify their aircraft before it is going for a flight. As you know their is no age limit here in this field. If you want to be an AME it needs a hard work of alots of years. First of all you need to clear DGCA paper licence exams which is really a very difficult task. You need to gain 70 marks out of 100 to win these exams. While discussing about job the most threat these students are facing is Air force officers. These officers will came to private sector after their retirement from IAF and this reduces our chance for getting job. Nowadays most of these colleges are shutting down because of lack of students. Alot of students in this field are not getting jobs and they are looking for other courses and jobs. In my opinion if you want to do a job in aviation sector you should look at Indian Air Force and other aeronautical courses like Aeronautical engineering and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering will not give any good experience in your life.

You can find job opportunities in Engineering services companies. Some of the Engineering services companies in India are Infosys, Wipro, TCS, HCL, Infotech Enterprises and so on. As soon as one sees the name of these companies, they consider that these companies are only into IT! But these companies hire Mechanical Engineers , aeronautical engineers too as they have many projects from Aerospace giants like Boeing, Airbus,Lockheed Martin, etc. Aeronautical Engineering has lots of scope, but the thing is that, to shine in this field, you should have a good practical knowledge.
Other than the above mentioned companies, you have HAL, BEL, NAL etc which are Government organisations. To get a job as a fresher into these companies, you have to write entrance exams and get good score in that.
