Any kind of discrimination against physically challenged people, other than those directly connected to their disability, is prohibited in India. The following Acts cover almost all aspects related to the physically challenged-
1) The Rehabilitation Council of India Act, 1992.
2) The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.
3) The National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999 and
4) The Disability Discrimination Act, 2005.
In addition to these the Government issues ordinances and circulars from time to time depending on the requirement to ensure that the disabled are not denied their due.
