The use of Eucalyptus oil in handkerchief and masks acts as disinfectants. Thus it is a preventive measure for the spread of swine flu virus. This was suggested by National Inst. of virology.

On a clean handkerchief place few drops of peppermint or eucalyptus oil and inhale the same, will prevent cold and keep other chest ailments away from you. Eucalypyus oil is very good to control nasal congestion and cold and when the oil is rubbed on the chest will keep you warm and away from respiratory disorders.

Hi,
Eucalyptus oil acts on the receptors in the nasal mucosa which aids in relieving nasal congestion, it is also compared to menthol.
We can use eucalyptus oil by applying a drop or two on our clean handkerchief and inhale it.
It can also be inhales with the steam.
Kind Regards.

Dear Friend,
Yes its true that Eucalyptus oil can be used to inhale its vapours by pouring on mask or handkerchief, and as messages are sent for swine flue but Indian institute of Virology has not supported this statement yet, however it can be used as a inhaler to control nastral congestion. And it can also be used for disinfectant.
But again emphasising on the message part, it has not yet supported by IIV (indian institute of Virology)
Hope this answers your question.
