After class XII, the mainstream course available in humanities is Bachelor of Arts or B.A. The other available options are hotel management, fashion designing, event management, mass communication, dance/drama/acting, foreign languages etc. The student has to realize that there is no less hard work and dedication involved in humanities stream. One can select humanities, because of aptitude only, not because of the thinking that , it is easier to clear to examinations in humanities. I would say that there are better opportunities for hard working students in humanities stream as there is comparatively less competition for bright students who are willing to give their best. There is a Nobel prize in economics also.
Let us encourage each other in sharing knowledge.

The option of choosing Humanities after 10+2 would be a nice option to you. In this stream, you can either take up English or Economics as your Honours subject. Both the subjects have tremendous demands. Economics being a vital subject opens up new vistas to the aspirant. One can choose Banking jobs by facing competitive examinations. In case, one would like to go to teaching - line in a college, this line can be persued by taking up a Post- graduate degree and later NET test has to be cleared to get the oppurtunity of Lecturer. To obtain a doctorate degree in the later stage would be benificial for the aspirants.
The other areas having lucrative demands of the candidates are- Fashion- designing, Hotel - management, Event - management and Mass- communication.
Total dedication to studies would make their careers prosperous definitely.

Let me answer each question separately:
Is it pertinent to let students decide about the subject stream as per their own interest or as per the CGPA obtained?
According to me, yes, the student should have the freedom to decide the subject stream as per interest. Parents are there to provide awareness of the stream, the subjects covered, the future prospects and thus guide the student to make a judicious decision. Once the student comes up with three options, the next step is that the student and parent can jointly identify which stream is doable as per CGPA obtained. For example : if a student has interest in science but the subject marks are very poor, then probably science is not a good choice. This is because the student will not be able to handle it.
What opportunities can a bright student foresee after completing Class XII with Humanities in class XI and XII?
The bright student can opt for BA or B.Com or BMM or BBA. After completing graduation the next step is to study MBA.
Would you also list the courses and the names of the Institutions?
I think this is spoon feeding, appreciate if you could go online on ISC :
    1. Search for a course and get the list of colleges
    2. Search for college in your vicinity and get the course of interest there

    Autograph your work with excellence!
