Our body needs all the essential nutrients for proper growth and a balanced diet is a diet which contains all the required ingredients in their respective required quantity.
Green vegetable salad cannot be a balanced diet on its own. We also need fresh fruits and most importantly Milk and milk products.
In absence of milk and milk products, our joints will become harder.
We also need pulses which are very rich source of proteins.
Only salad cannot fulfill the complete nutritional requirement of your body.

In theory some people who have gone vegan can do this without any issues. However the body won't be healthy. And it won't be able to do most of the hard tasks. For example, tasks like lifting some weight and also managing some brain tasks would require more food. And this is one reason that makes you think the food has to be varied type. Just going vegan alone won't help body at all. Also in order to be healthy you have to regularly sweat the body. With diet like this you can't afford the sweat. This reduces your immunity and also reduce the growth of cells. So I think this would definitely lead to less healthy lifestyle.

Having only salads does not make it a balanced diet. Food should contain all the nutrients (the substances which the body needs to grow and be healthy). A balanced diet is a diet that has all the nutrients in proper proportions that the body requires. There are five types of nutrients in our food, they are:
Carbohydrates: they provide energy to our body, for doing all the activities. The sources of carbohydrates are rice, potatoes, sugar, wheat, fruits etc.
Proteins: they help in growth of the body and also help in repair of the worn out tissues. The sources of proteins are pulses, beans meat, fish, chicken etc.
Fats: they give double the energy than the carbohydrates. The energy is used by the body for body functions and other activities. The sources of fats are butter, ghee, oil nuts etc.
Vitamins: They are needed in small quantities but help in proper growth and keeps the body healthy. They are found in cereals, pulses, vegetables eggs etc.
Minerals: they are also needed in small quantities; they help the body to function properly. The sources are milk, green leafy vegetables meat and pulses.
Besides these nutrients water and roughage is very important for the body.
Water; It is very essential for the body to function properly, all the chemical changes occurs in water medium. It also maintains the body temperature, helps in digestion, excretion etc.
Roughage( fibrous food) prevents constipation, and helps in easy bowel movements. The sources of roughage are raw vegetables and fruits.
If there is less intake of these nutrients then it leads to deficiency diseases related to that particular nutrient.
A person who does not eat a balanced diet may suffer from obesity too.

Taking salad only is not the solution of healthy food. A healthy food comprises Carbohydrates, Protiens, Fats, Vitamins and Minerals. So, a care has to be taken to ensure that our food is balanced in all respects. However, salad offers many valueable nutrients and minerals such as Tomatoes and Cucumbers and due to this very reason, salad must be an integral part in our meals. Protiens help in repairing the worn out tissues and as such Eggs, Pulses and Curd are very important. Carbohydrates offers us energy to sustain our duties. A slight amount of clarified butter and butter are essential in order to have good cholesterol in our blood. Essential minerals can be obtained with leafy vegetables and Milk.
Even fibrous food, too, plays an important role in our body- system. A table - spoon of Oat boiled with milk, if taken regularly in the morning would clear our bowel - system.
So a balanced diet, enough intake of water and regular exercises are equally essential in order to keep ourselves fit.

Friend, no doubt salads are reach in vitamins, minerals and fibers but, salads are not complete food as per body requirement are concern, salads can be a good option when you want to have a light food or you are on dieting but if you want a healthy life, you cant depend solely on salads, as it generally lacks fats, carbs, and proteins which are basic energy source and building blocks of life,
What can be done is modifying your salads you can have dry fruits added in them , it will enhance taste add a crunch and provide with some of the minerals.
add cream and have milk to give you all required contents,
it is to be known milk and salad also lack in few contents so eggs, poultry and fish can be added to diet to make it balance one.
