Being a sportsman my self I can tell you that many of the Traditional sports are now have a good reputation in international platform as well inside our country unlike the past.
You cant rule out the fact that sports like Cricket, Tennis, Football and F1 races are true winners in terms of money involved and earnings of players, our traditional sports were lagging behind because of less viewership and even lesser money outcome.
But the situation is changing rapidly , one such example is Pro Kabbaddi League which had 2nd largest Viewership after IPL in past years, now with similar season of wrestling ( kushti) is giving a nice platform to budding and existing talents.
now Kabbaddi ,Kushti are part of so many international events like Commonwealth games were India had proven its worth.
there are world cups for both events. more than 50 countries play these sports and they admire the sports.
Now as per my knowledge Kho Kho is not Traditional Indian by origin but is cultural an Indian sport, The other sports like Atya-Patya, Sepak-Tekra, and Thang-Taa are popular in very limited part of country and lot need to be done to promote these sports as these are also true judge of agility and stamina.
the traditional sports are now providing people good admiration, and nice pay and they are now recognized internationally to,
still lot to be done
