Syllabuswise, CBSE Board covers more topics than SSC Board in general. That does not mean CBSE is better than SSC. The thing is that students who are average in studies will find it more difficult to score marks in CBSE Board examinations. So definitely, CBSE Board is not suitable for students who are average in studies. But for brighter students, CBSE syllabus will help to acquire more knowledge when compared to SSC Board syllabus and subsequently it will again help the students to succeed in IIT JEE and other competitive Engineering and Medical Examinations after completing XII std. In that aspect, CBSE Board syllabus is better than SSC Board syllabus. Teaching pattern is almost same for both the boards. So, student can select either CBSE or SSC Board based upon his knowledge level and grasping ability in studies.

It is the most common dilemma among the students these days. CBSE vs. SSC. but I would suggest you don't go by the tag only. This is not necessary that every CBSE student is intelligent or he will be successful in life. Everything depends on hard work. You just choose the board according to your own wish and start preparing for it. SSC is not easy even. And as far as competitive exams are concerned they have their own prescribed syllabus. They rely neither on CBSE nor on SSC, You will have to prepare according to their syllabus and many books are available in the market for that and so many coaching institutes are earning their bread and butter because of this difference only. No school can guarantee you that they will prepare you 100% for your future competitions. So, take a wise decision. Both syllabus are good, both have their pros and cons, so evaluate the things and then decide. I belong to SSC and I am satisfied with that.
All the best.

It is very difficult to pass judgement on the superiority one of one board over another. I would like to mention only one comment. The Medical or Engineering Entrance syllabi are in conformity with the syllabi of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

CBSE is better but on one Condition if you Eliminate Mathematics subject in it. State Syllabus varies from state to state so you can not exactly tell that it is good or bad it depends on the state where you are studying. One thing is sure in CBSE Mathematics Subject is limited it is not extensive as
