Well there us no financial assistance in cash for the higher secondary passed outs, surely if you want to study further, the government gives scholarships to the deserving candidates. In Hyderabad the state government is giving three thousand to the Intermediate and 8000 to the degree level students. If a candidates gets merit marks, on submission of income certificate and caste certificate the government partially helps in paying fees for Intermediate, degree or even Engineering studies. But I do not know the details about others states in this regard.

Government of India's scheme of scholarship for college and university students is available for students. The scholarships are awarded strictly on the basis of merit.
In addition, various central scholarships are available for SC/ST/Minority students.
Scholarships/exemption of fees are also available for single girl students.
Furthermore, it must be clearly understood that Education is a subject which is included in the Concurrent List of the Constitution of India. So similar scholarships are also available for students from the State Governments.
Last but not the least, all banks (both in public sector and in private sector) provide educational loan for needy students pursuing technical/medical/business education.
