Obviously, writing notes would be helpful for the preparation of 10th board exams. Hand written notes have their own importance. This would be helpful and handy at the time of last minute reading when the students seldom like to waste their time.
For writing down notes, do make a note of the important points only instead of writing lengthy ones. On learning the important points you can expand the same and write in your own words, provided your English writing skills are good.

The lesson should be first read as many times as required and notes should also be made simultaneously for learning thoroughly . However after that old questions papers should be solved to actually know as to how much learning has actually been achieved. Writing is important. One should be able to answer the questions in writing without referring either book or notes.

I strongly recommend to make notes if you have sufficient time.
I can only help you in understanding that you should make notes or not.
Ask you self following question.
Do I have enough time to go through all the books twice?
If yes, prepare notes infact best notes. Make clues to remember dates, facts etc. Add examples from practical aspects. Try to learn how to high light the important part of your answer and practice figures with proper labeling.
If you think you do not have enough time to make so detailed notes.
Go for the chapters you have prepared, note important things about those in short. Step to those chapters or topics which are not yet touched by you. Try to pick up important and easy things from that so that you can write atleast something if questions come from the same topic.
Dear, Notes will help you in following ways,
You will take lesser time in revising those.
As you have written those yourself, at the time of examination it will be easy to recall what you have written. Recalling text from book will be more tough. Notes will also help you in making summary of every topic time in reading examples, related facts will be saved.
On the day before examination, it will be just a look over every topic will be enough for you. If you d not have notes you may have to go turn many pages to get what you want to revise at last moment.

Preparation of notes is important since these may be referred to at the time of examination conveniently. However, care has to be taken that the notes must contain all the relevant points of a particular chapter. Even the formulaes with the proper connotation should be logged in a proper place.
A well written note containing the details would save your time during its subsequent revision in your upcoming examination. The points enlisted in the chapters can be expanded in your own words provided the whole text has been read and understood carefully. You can even underline some important matter with a red pencil as a reminder of its importance in the chapter.

Of course, notes taking is our genuine effort to capture what we listen in the classroom or what we study from the textbook. It engages our mind partially or wholly during study. It establishes our connection to the material. During the examination time, it assists in quick mental recall or revision of the subject.
Another method of taking notes is Mind Map technique. It is a graphical method of taking notes while studying. It gives a visual effect and helps to revise the subject quickly later. Mind Map generally takes a tree branch format, with ideas branching into their subsections. So it allows for greater creativity when recording ideas and information and engages all the parts of our brain.

Self made notes play very important role in your studies.
Please note that I have mentioned "Self made" because many times student misunderstand it even take others notes.
Although others notes may also help you till some extent but the notes you will prepare for yourself will be the excellent solution.
The reasons are-
1. If you are preparing notes, it means you have read the topic from books thoroughly.
2. After reading something, if you write it, it becomes more clear to you.
3. As these notes are prepared by you, it will be easy to revise at the time of examinations.

Hi, it is the best best choice of studying for the exams. The notes created by own will have more benefits than other method of studying even better than combine study too. Our own notes will make our remembering power high. At the time of exam we remember the note by own only, also book we written it, the points that written in the lecture note will like itself remember. It will reduce the spending time taken to read whole text. Just concentrate completely at the time of preparing own notes and just only to read before the exam. Notes will be more clear. Our knowledge, concentration power etc improve into an extent. If your teacher gives you notes, you can add your points in that notes itself after reading text book or complete note can be prepared.

Read the chapters thoroughly and try to understand. Write down the topics or areas you couldn't understand and ask your teachers. Whatever points you think important, note it down and revise again.
This will clear your confusion.

Eventhough writing up notes is a time consuming process, it will help you save time for revision and especially for last time review. Do make notes for theory papers. It will enable you to remember the points as it is hand written by you and is arranged. While writing the exam, you will find these points coming into your mind, provided you have studied it too.. Make you to make notes in points instead of long sentences. Study the small points and learn how to expand these points. Best Wishes for your Exams..
