Why do some fishes jump out of the water and die

Date: 17 Jan 2016    Group: Opinion About    Category: Miscellaneous

I had observed that only certain types of fishes (no idea about their exact name) jump out from the water and when they fall in no water area they die. What is the reason for fish jumping out from the water and dying? Is it due to a different atmosphere? Is new water and place / tank killing it? Any other reason?
Awaiting response to my queries from experts.

The decision to jump out of water to die is not conscious one. They jump from water to breathe air. In normal circumstances they can just get close to upper surface and have the air. But usually some aggressive and healthy fish jumps out. And this in turn makes them die without the water. They are the species who need both water and air. However some wish require non liquid oxygen often to survive. So they come up in the surface and some species have this habit of jumping. The species that show such behavior are - carp fish, cat fish, gold fish and few others.

HI, Certain fishes tend to jump and some can jump fairly high to breathe air. They jump for several reasons, the most common being because the fish is hunting or is being hunted. Jumping makes for a good defense mechanism as the fish being hunted can temporarily escape the fish that is doing the hunting. In case of Aquarium fishes like marbled hatchetfish feeds on the surface, and in the wild are known to jump out of the water to dislodge any insects that may be crawling on any low hanging leaves or branches. Some fishes jump out of tank beacuse of bad quality water. Every one needs good quality water for their life. Improper cleaning of your aquarium can cause fish to jump out as can high concentrations of ammonia or improper pH levels. In bad quality water the oxygen content is very low so they can't breathe properly for their life.

In science side the fish like guppies jump out of the tank to acquire food. I have already said that some reasons of jumping out the fishes and are less oxygen content, PH levels, Bad quality water etc. All mentioned reasons leads to jumping out of fishes from the tank and die

Some fishes jump out because they need fresh air and sometimes they jump if they are frightened by something in water. It is not sure answer that why fishes jump out of the water.
But when they jump out they die because of different atmosphere present outside the water. Fishes are the things that only can live in water, Some fishes sometimes can adjust in land or air but cannot live there. So when they come out from the water they die.
