To become a certified chef, you have to first complete your +2 and have at least 50% score in your +1 and +2. The course which is offered to become a chef is bachelor of food technology. I did not find universities which are providing distance education for this course.
The universities which provides this course in class are A.K.S University, Adithya food technology college, Amity institute of food technology, Anna university and many more. Have a great future.
Thanks and regards,

If you are looking to become a chef at a 5-star restaurant, then, you may need the type of courses and degrees as mentioned by the other expert above.
However, you can even choose to do any hotel management course and work as an intern with some good restaurant. There is no substitute for the real experience, and you can then open your own food outlet, where you are the main chef. Talent does not always require certification, however, basic education related to your field of expertise is necessary. So, try and innovate by gaining more real life experience through internship at some restaurant or under a good chef (along with your graduation course in food technology or hotel management).
You can even try and start selling on online food websites like ichef.in, which would allow you to get customer reviews on your best dishes. Once you are confident of your cooking skills, you can even apply for entry to the 'MasterChef India' contest that happens every year as a reality-based cooking competition on TV in India.
You can improvise and gain more knowledge by checking out various YouTube channels of famous chefs and also by going through some popular food blogs and recipe books. All this knowledge will help you to become a great chef in future, with the ideal job profile and experience.
