Wheat flour or other flours don't help in treating burn injuries and should not be used. The advice being circulated in the media appears to be a spurious one. First aid measures of burns depends on the degree of burn. In case of first degree burn, soaking the burn in cold water for 5 minutes help. An antibiotic or skin care cream can be applied on the affected area. Such burns usually heal in 3 to 5 days depending upon the severity.

Wheat flour is often used to patch the wounds. Most of the time the wheat flour hardens the blood flow. So that helps in reducing consistent bleeding. Pet doctors and the lack of medical aid could often lead to such home remedy. Most of the other doctors don't find this scientific. And they don't recommend this to be used on wounds. I suggest you to take alternative medicine available to stop bleeding. Something like dettol and savlon along with the patches can be more effective.
