Following precautions should be taken by an diabetic patient-
1) A diabetic patient should avoid fruits which contains added sugar.
2) A diabetic patient should use fruits which contains less carbohydrates.
3) A diabetic patient should eliminate use of soft drinks,energy drinks,cakes,chocolates,cakes and other sugar added items.

The fruits containing high glycemic index beyond 60 are not safe to consume the diabetic patients. It would be better for them to avoid Mangoes, Bananas, Grapes and Guavas.
However, these fruits can be taken in moderate amount sometimes in order to get satisfaction emotionally.
Apples and Black - berries are always benificial for them. In Ayurveda, extract of Black berries and the seed of Black - berry in powdered form are utilised to control excess blood - sugar.
