I too had these doubts a long time back. I was asked to choose eating green apples over red apples by father from childhood. Red apples are tastier, but green apples are more nutritious than red apples.
The reason is, Green apples have less sugar, more fiber, higher antioxidant levels, more anti-aging and beauty benefits than red apples.

Green apples have lot of vitamins that are required to clear your stomach. They are also used in the cooking of salad and other dishes. Most of the time green apple is also used for the juice which can be consumed if you are diabetic. It has the specific taste which is not sweet or sour completely. This is what gives the green apple more nutritional value too. In case of lack of fruits for eating during diabetes, you can try them. Also in case of losing the weight, they can be really good. However they are extremely less imported and have higher cost.

Comparing both the apples Green Apples are more nutritious than red apples because Green Apples contains more vitamins than Red Apples, as not sweet can be eaten by diabetic patient. Many dishes are made using Green Apples, also helps in reducing weight. Green apples can also help in preventing diarrhea. As Green Apples are costly than Red Apples they are not easily available.
