Nowadays generally on packages of all quality products of reputed brand, nutritional facts are described. The carbohydrate component is likely to be more in all brands of glucose biscuits compare to other types of biscuits. Therefore the total calorie intake of the individual has to be accounted for. Eating a single item cannot be said to be harmful. Instead the same should be evaluated in terms of intake of all other items throughout the day.

Glucose during the weakness after recovering from the fever can be good. However you should giving this kids below 5 years. The reason being during fever the content of glucose sticks into their saliva and also affect their stomach. And it would hard for them to get over the excessive sugar. Also those with the diabetes are asked to avoid the biscuits for all reasons.
Instead of biscuits, you can give them rusk or rusk butter. That would be good for kids too. And most of the people don't find much sugar in it and also low calories compared to glucose.

Biscuits are not the healthy snacks for the children because of the following factors mentioned below -
1) Biscuits contain white refined - flour responsible for excess time consumption in digestion. In fact, the refined - flour is devoid of any nutritive - value.
2) Biscuits contain excess amount of sugar and especially in the Glucose - biscuits, the amount of sugar remains appreciably high and as such regular consumption of such biscuits is not a healthy option. People suffering from diabetes should definitely avoid Glucose- biscuits.
3) Hydrogenated - oils are employed for the preparation of biscuits in order to enhance the shell - life of the products. Hydrogenated - oils contain trans - fat detrimental for the health. Excess trans- fat blocks the healthy circulation of the blood within the body-symptom.
There are better options available for children now a days such as Oats, Corn - flakes and Museli etc and the city nsistent use of these items would lead to healthy growth of the children.
Semolina, too, is a healthy option for children. A table - spoon of the same should be boiled in approx 60 ml of milk by adding a little sugar. The resultant product is nutritive in all respect.

Let me begin by answering your concern about Parle G biscuits causing cough and throat infections among children. Your 2 year old has been having these biscuits. Do you find your child suffering from either of these ailments on a regular basis? Your answer to this question should give you a better idea if there is any truth in what you've heard. However, let's get down to facts –
1. Cough is caused by infection of the respiratory tract
2. Bacterial infections are known to cause throat infections
Parle is a reputed company, known for its confectionary items. The company has been in business since decades. If they were selling products that caused infections in children they would not have lasted this long.
Glucose biscuits are packed with the goodness of milk, so be glad in knowing that your child will be benefiting from the extra calcium he receives. Most growing children eat biscuits because they are sweet and tasty and there is no perceivable harm in them having the same in a controlled manner.
Like most packaged foods biscuits are made of maida and contain artificial flavours, emulsifiers and other ingredients that increase the shelf life etc. Therefore, it is best that biscuits are not part of the main diet, but given as a supplementary with a healthy diet.
At the age of 2 encourage your child to eat more fruits and vegetables. Remember this is the age when right eating habits can be inculcated in children. Give the kid a variety of foods, making sure there is nothing in the diet that can be potentially harmful to his health. Think whole grains, multi-grains, seeds, pulses, nuts, dry-fruits, sprouts, eggs and non-veg if you eat the same and dairy products.
Mash boiled veggies and add to chappati/paratha etc. Make khichdi not just with dal, but with healthy amounts of vegetables as well. Meanwhile, let the kid have a couple of biscuits along with his milk. There is no real harm done. Meanwhile look for healthier biscuits, ones that are made of whole wheat or contain whole grains.
