In my opinion this question arises only when a candidate clears both the written competitive examinations, clears the personal interviews and receives appointment letters in both the cases. At that stage it may be a dilemma for a candidate as to which offer to accept. Prior to that the students should give their 100 percent in preparing for both the competitive examinations. The one which is finally cleared at all stages is best for that particular candidate. Preparation for one examinations prepares the student for the other examination also up to a large extent. Many more factors come in play in deciding suitability like place of posting etc. after receiving appointment letter.

If your interest lies in the banking and the financial domain then IBPS banking jobs are better. And you have upto age 27 to give all your efforts into that. In case of the other govt jobs, they close when you reach the 28 years of age. So you have enough time to give these competitive exams. You may have to appear on both exams if you are only concerned about the govt. exams. I think you should definitely give each one a try and find out. Govt jobs are much better these days in terms of discipline and the salary. So I suggest trying both of these exams and see which sticks you in.

IBPS belongs to a particular field that is banking so if you want to go in banking field only than you have IBPS as an option. Now a days IBPS has started recruitment for postal department also. As far as Staff selection commission is concerned its recruitment process is very wide and you have a chance to make your career in various government departments. So it is very clear, IBPS is for banking and postal department and SSC for other government organisations.

Hi, we are going to compare this things in every aspects
1. Growth Aspects : You should always think in terms of long term, not short term. In long term, does SSC provide better career than PO.No.... IBPS has more chances than SSC ,SSC always provides you post of junior.
2. Money : Po offers more earning than SSC .
3. Workload: Yes, now you have to bear the consequences if you want high growth. PO job is much more demanding and time consuming than SSC jobs. SSC will give you much more peace of mind and better work-life balance. But we are in an organisation to work hard, not to take rest.

Keeping in view of shrinking in the vacancies, you should have the farsightedness to approach the both since the way of preparation for both the examinations resemble. So, the preparation of one test would equip to the success in the other test. In the event of your selection in both the tests, you may choose IBPS because by accepting this, you would get wider promotional - prospects apart from attractive package.
Where as IBPS involves hard working and the targets assigned by the department has to be achieved, SSC can keep you relaxed in the sense that the jobs are secured. Moreover you would lead to routined life by joining SSC.
