What is nutritional value of tartaric acid which is an additive of many food recipe? Is it a synthetic chemical or found naturally also in some edible products? What is the purpose of adding it in food recipe? Is it added for flavor/taste only or because of other reasons also?

There are many benefits of this acid. And do note that it also has some side effects too.

Most of the time tartaric acid is useful in situation where you want to boost your immunity. So consuming this acid during summer season can be good. And the side effect occurs during rainy or winter season.

Most of the products such ENO or digestive tablets makes use of this acid. It helps get the gas out of your body.

Those who are suffering from the diabetic condition for the glucose intolerance can consume this as well.

Here are some of the fruits that contain this acid : grapes, black grapes, banana, pear, Cranberries etc.

Most of the processed food contain this acid to preserve it for longer time. It also helps against bacterial infection in the storage.

Spanish or Mexican dishes have this added into it to add more digestive power to the dish. Heavy dishes usually add the tartaric acid for digestive approach.

It can be added into the dish for health reasons mostly. In case of processed food it is also added for preserving and for bacterial safety.

Tartaric Acid is a vital component in tamarind and this has innumerable health benifits. Some of the benifits are listed below-
1) Improves immunity- Because of abundant amount of Vitamin- C apart from Vitamin B and Vitamin E, it strengthens the immunity - system. It can relieve sore - throat, cough and cold.
2) Improves digestion - the essential oil in the tamarind is responsible for the improved digestion.
3) Removes constipation - Because of presence of diatery fibre in the the tamarind, this helps in alleviation of constipation.
4) Helps in weight - loss - Tartaric Acid present in tamarind also contains Hydroxy citric Acid and this acid is responsible for shedding weight.
5) Regulates Blood Pressure- Due to presence of abundant amount of potassium in the tamarind, this keeps our blood pressure healthy.
6) Helps in healthy blood circulation- The amount of iron in the tamarind takes care of Homoglonobile in our symptom and the use of the same would be helpful.
In south - India, this fruit is abundantly used in summer reason in order to take care of Sun- stroke.
