Date: 09 Mar 2016   Posted By: Arpan     Group: Computers    Category: Hardware

I am having a problem with my processor and my computer automatically freezes. When I checked the processor, the temperature is 55 degrees - is this Ok? The processor is intel G2020 2.9 ghz.

If the temperature is high, then what can be the possible solution to reduce its temperature?

When you purchase the hardware you get the specification sheet which shows the temperature of the processor under specific condition. For example, most of the processors from INTEL are in the following temperature slots : 45°C - 65°C.

In case of intel G2020 2.9 ghz temperature, the specification online from INTEL shows the following : 33°C - 65°C. You may find the working condition processor under the range within the said number.

Idle temperature should be 33-40 normally. If the temperature is high then make sure you are giving proper cooling around. You can add additional fan and the cooling pad inside your desktop hardware. Also cleanup your computer and see if any app or virus is making the processor heat up. There are many ways to fix this but one has to look at your processor to understand the cause.

55 degrees is normal for your processor.
Try this -
1- Remove your cpu fan and put a heatsink paste on your processor .
2- and set the CPU Fan.
3- Check Your OS .

May I know what made you relate the temperature of the processor with computer freeze? Let me tell you that the temperature of your processor does not affect your system's performance. If the temperature exceeds its normal level then it may simply get overheated and your computer may shut down.

There are various reasons for system getting stuck. Some of them are given below-
1. Many applications running together.
2. Opening the same programme twice at one go.
3. Too much of fragmentation of hard disk.
4. Loose connection of CPU.
5. Domination of Trojan class virus.
6. Defect in RAM.
7. Drivers not installed properly.
8. Applications that consume too much of graphics.

The solution to your problem is very simple. First install Tuneup pro and run overall checking of system. If this does not work then simply format your system.
There is no defect in your processor and its temperature is just fine.
