People stop growing by the time they are 20. At 24 your chances of adding that extra inch are grim. However, you can consult a doctor for growth hormones. This is an expensive treatment that involves injecting of growth hormones. The treatment needs to be taken under a skilled doctor. You may require continuous treatment for an year or more, to see some visible effects.
You can also try swimming and playing sports such as basket ball that are known to enhance height. You can also hang from parallel bars, but please note the effects of these exercises on your height, at your age, will be minimal.
What you lack in height you can make up through personality.
1. Dress smarter, not gaudy or flashy, but classy

7. Be humorous and witty – this combination works like wonder. It will draw attention to you the person and not your height
8. Wear shoes designed for people who lack height. These shoes have special insoles that add a couple of inches to your height, without making it obvious that you are wearing heels
9. Change your hairstyle. Have a stylist give you a cut that creates an illusion of some height
Height does not determine intelligence or ability, so don't let people teasing you affect you. People get pleasure out of other's misery, so don't let them see the effect their comments have on you. You can stop them either by ignoring them, or by giving a sharp retort. You can say –
Look at you talking like a 5 year old – can we have an intelligent discussion like adults. Use your brain against mine, instead of your height. Look up the net for some sharp retorts.

In case of growth of height the maximum age is 21. From there onwards be it a male or female person, height seizes to grow. And you can't do anything about it. If the body type is skinny then you can do some workout and change your appearance to some extent.
If you are not skinny then also workout can change the looks. However 5'5'' being a good enough height and the age being above specific threshold, there is no way to gain the height anymore.
You have to make personality changes in order to avoid yourself from being out of confidence. You can do that simply by working hard on other skills. You have to improve on your communication skills too. This takes time but eventually you have to work on those skills. Once you go in this direction this can help you ignore the height issue.

you have to do the tadasana regularly, if you want to increase your height.
due to this exercise you can grow some inches at any age.
But you have to do the regular exercise for your height.
Get up early in the morning and start running regularly. Running regularly is a good exercise.

It may not be possible to achieve physical growth in height after the age of 24 years but one can grow taller by personality development as described above by the author Juana also. It is always possible to attain greater height on the strength of hard work, sincerity and devotion. One should starve to excel in his chosen field and carve out a niche for himself/herself. In case it is not possible to become an outstanding basket ball player then what prevents one from becoming Sunil Gavaskar or Sachin Tendulakar.

At the age of 24 you simply cannot expect your height to increase on its own as the growth hormones stop at the age of 21 itself.
But still you can increase your height by 1 or 2 inches by dynamic stretches. There is always some amount of hidden stress in human muscles and tendons. When you do dynamic stretching or extreme stretching you can expect some positive results in your height.
There is also a surgical procedure available where growth hormones are injected into your body thus increasing your height.
There is another expensive surgical procedure where your bones are cut off from the middle and rods are inserted in its place. This surgery is very expensive and most effective for persons longing for better height.
You can make some changes in your style to look tall. Wear full sleeved shirts and buff up to look tall.
