FX cameras can make use of both FX and DX sensor lenses. However the DX camera can't support the FX sensor lens. The different between the two is in resolution. The DX has small sensor at 24x16mm and FX sensor at 36x24mm. If you take images with each one of them differently then you can notice the difference.
FX lenses being more supportive towards the distance and the colors, you get better quality for landscapes. However for small sensors from DX, the picture take on closer view are much better with DX lenses. The limitations are more for the DX lens because it has more noise and less light gathering. In case of FX lens you may find low noise and more light capture.
FX lenses are better for more precise resolution and better image quality. Also the DX lenses are good when you are into landscape but want closer shots with better control over light.
