The first and foremost requirement on the part of the student and his parents is to fully concentrate in the studies of class XIth and XIIth. A target should be set to attain position among top 5 in the college/board. The rest of the future course of action will automatically become a cake walk. The present two years can be said to be the most important years in the life of the student to shape his future career. All other activities including social and enjoyment activities should be put on back burner for time being. Taking admission in one of following top ranking commerce stream college in India is likely to open the gates of success -
1. Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi
2. Loyola College, Chennai
3. Christ College, Bengaluru
4. St. Xavier's College, Mumbai
5. Hans Raj College, Delhi

Dear Ashish, I hope you had a word regarding this with your son. His opinions related to what he wants to do with his life matters the most. Ask him if he is interested in any particular field or any degree which he wants to pursue either within india or abroad. His career is in decision and he has to make it. Well if he is keen on going abroad then he has to take GMAT/TOEFL/GRE/IELTS based on which country and course he wants to pursue. Kindly confirm his preferences and we can guide you accordingly. In India there are premier institutes that offer courses in the fields you mentioned. However the primary decision maker is your son and the principal supporter is you. So let us hear your son's view on this first.

If he is fine with it, ask him about his favorite area or subjects. As per that go ahead with further studies. If you want to go for CA, he should be having liking for accounts and has to clear entrance exam or else he can opt for direct entry scheme which is after BCOM.

As per my stats there is very less scope for MEC students in India. You will come across a number of barriers in this stream. Since your son is already in class 12 there is no looking back. When it comes to how will he prepare himself for entrance exams it is left to him and his coaching classes. Studying in a good coaching institute will surely open his gates to success.
What surprises me is that you and your son have no idea of what to do in future then why did you make him choose commerce stream.
Taking admission in a foreign university would be the best in order to have a good future. You can admit your child in any GMAT/CAT coaching institute in order to crack that exam.
When it comes to which branch to take in future it is solely left to your ward's interest but unfortunately in your case even he does not know what to choose, so I recommend you to go for career counceling for your ward.
