It depends on the performance also at least to some extent which you made so far as evidenced by your marks sheet of class Xth and XIIth. It may be noted that by putting in hard work consistently, the desired results can be achieved easily. Completing any degree program is not the ultimate goal of a student. The objective should be to learn as to how to achieve desired results through hard work, persistence and perseverance.
The B.Tech program itself is the very valuable course. Learning all the subjects properly and achieving outstanding results should be made the goal. No other course is required to be taken at present. Instead hundred percent should be given to completing the B.Tech course with flying colors. The target should be set to be among top five in the college/university.

At this moment, you must put all your endeavours to grasp the chapters of your text - books and in case you need any clarification, do consult your concerned teacher to wipe out the confusion. A sound concept of the subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics would lead to success in the competitive tests organised by different councils. So basics have to be understood clearly to remain in the edge.
By faring well in the competitive test, you may get the stream of your choice. There is always demand of excellent performers of the aspirants having acquired B.Tech course with some premiur institution. Once you are into engineering you will not need any additional courses because engineering will cover everything.
But what makes the difference is that from which university you do engineering. It is because in India you will find many unemployed so called engineers at every corner of the street. For getting success in engineering one should get admission into the best colleges of India and give his 100% best in it.

The better you perform in engineering the better job you get.
The fact is that an engineer can open his own company if you have talent.

I would like to caution you that dont be in a notion that just doing well in engineering will bag you a good job. You even have to be smart with good interaction skills to crack an interview.
Choosing the correct stream is also important because it decides your future. First know your interests in various fields and only after talking with your parents and gathering information make a decision.
You will be offered a range of streams during admission time so do not change your mind at the end moment. Also gather information about the hostel facilities of the college you are interested in. Better environment means better results.

All the best for making this crucial decision of your life
