How to prepare to become an astronaut for NASA?

I am a 9th standard student and have immense interest in becoming an astronaut for NASA. I belong to a lower class family. What steps are required to become an astronaut?

The website of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangaluru should be studied for admission in undergraduate program - four year Bachelor of Science (Research) Program after 10+2 level. Students have to appear in national level examinations like IIT-JEE (Advanced), KVPY and AIPMT etc. for admission.
Also the author should study the website of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangaluru particularly about Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D program in Physics & Astrophysics and Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D (Tech.) program in Astronomical Instrumentation. admission to such programs is through national level tests like IIA screening test (IIAST), Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam, UGC-CSIR / NET exam for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), followed by personal interview. Students selected under Joint Astronomy Program (JAP) organized by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore are also eligible to join IIA for the Ph.D program.
