After completing diploma in civil engineering, the best option may be to complete AMIE which is equivalent to an engineering degree. However the author should join a job immediately on the basis of his existing diploma without waiting for completing another course. In my opinion even a job without pay or at a remote location away from home should be accepted as it will count toward experience which will help in getting jobs in future. For completing AMIE also experience counts. Another option is to try for lateral admission in a regular degree program in a college. Completing degree either from a college as a regular student or through correspondence will help in getting proper jobs in future.

After completing diploma degree in

options are open for you. You can go for the Advance diploma course or you can join Lateral entry in bachelor's degree course . You can join private sector as well as

The options available for you for higher studies are:
  • Engineering (B.Tech). Generally, it is 4 years course. If you want to complete B.Tech through Diploma then it is 3 years course
  • Advanced diploma/ Post Graduate in Diploma
  • AMIE
  • Other specialization courses or certificate courses

However, with your diploma degree you can get job both in private and Govt. sector also. Check the notifications at least once a week. Generally, now-a-days, diploma holders are preferred rather than engineering students because of their requirements like less salary for the same amount of work etc.

You can get jobs in NTPC, Indian Oil, BHEL etc.
Recently, I have seen the notification released by Indian Oil that recruits diploma holders. I didn't remember the last date of application. However, notifications are released from time-to-time but before that you should prepare well to get success.

All the best!
