The common factor of 15 , 36 & 42 is 3,so after dividing by 3,the number are reduced to 5 ,12 & 14
Again from these three numbers 5 ,12 & 14.Only two numbers have factor and the two numbers are 12 & 14 .And their's common factor is 2,after dividing they reduced to 6 and 7.
Now after factorization,the reduced numbers remained 5,6 & 7 and the common factors are 3 & 2
Therefore multiply all these numbers 5 x 6 x 7 x 3 x 2 = 1260
The LCM is 1260.

Start with the smallest number which divides at least two of these numbers. If the number is a factor then write then divide the numbers separately and write their remainders in the row below them. Continue the above step till common factors are not possible for at least two numbers. Finally,multiply all the factors and also the remainders in the last row. This will give us the LCM of these given numbers.

LCM means Least Common Multiple. For example, Take a Number "6" What are the common Multiples of 6 : 6,12,18,24,30,36,42,48...............................................till infinite
Method to Solve: Find the LCM of 20,42 and 36 ? Ans: Write Factors of all the numbers first. 20 = 2*2*5 = 2^2 * 5 42 = 2*7*3 36 = 2*2*3*3 = 2^2 * 3^3
What you have to do now is take all the numbers that appears maximum even for 1 time in the above sequences. To find LCM, you are required to take the following numbers into consideration 2^2,5,7,3^3 ...So multiply them and the result is the answer of it. Answer ==== 4*5*7*9 = 1260
