Let me at the onset state that it is a difficult topic for a young child. The school should give age appropriate topics to children for writing assignments. You, as a parent must take this matter up with the teacher concerned.
Here are a few ideas that can be elaborated upon.
1. The child is learning a foreign language (eg: French from Alliance Française) and the school does not offer French as an option. Since, she is already learning a new language and becoming proficient in it, learning another language will burden her, and hence she may be exempted.
2. The child is a budding sportsperson - playing a sport (squash/badminton/tennis) and representing the school/state at various meets. Learning a third language will affect her performance/coaching as she'll need to devote extra time in grasping the fundamentals of the language. It's an added pressure that she can do without, hence the request to exempt her from learning a new language.
3. You belong to another state and are on deputation to the city until the end of the school year. Learning a language that your daughter does not know the basics of is proving to be quite challenging. The child is stressed and her grades are falling. She will be moving to her home state in a couple of months and will resume studying the local language spoken there. These factors may be considered and she be exempted.
Hope this helps.

There are various grounds which may be mentioned in the application to be written to Principal.
First of all, make it a point to highlight the burden with which the ward is facing because of vast volume of syllabus. Any addition to a new subject such as third language would create an additional strain on the child affecting her overhaul performance.
To learn a new language is a welcome step and can be taken up during the vacation of the schools and in that way, the time after examination can be utilised in a fruitful manner. You may indicate the same in the application.
Class six is the very early stage to be admitted for learning third language. The child must be given at least two years so that she can learn the intricacies associated with the third language.
