B.Sc. (Agriculture) is a four years undergraduate program. Some of the subjects covered in this course are agronomy, plant genetics, soil science, agricultural economics, agriculture engineering, horticulture, agricultural extension etc.
In my opinion it is a good alternate of pursuing B.Tech. program.
Eligibility Criteria for admission is 10+2 in science stream with physics, chemistry and biology subjects.
The job and salary etc. will depend on the outstanding performance of the author. In case top score in the course from a reputed Government university is achieved, then good salary can be expected even after completing B.Sc. (Agriculture) course without doing M.Sc..
In Government sector, state Government agriculture departments, agricultural research institutes and PSU banks recruit such candidates of jobs at officers level. There are employment opportunities in private sector also like in agriculture machinery manufacturers, food processing industries and agricultural products marketing firms etc.
The other available related UG degree courses are in the field of agricultural engineering, dairy science/technology, fisheries sciences, forestry, home science, horticulture and food science.
