Higher qualification never cause any problem in getting good suitable job.
so, if you have financial capacity, interest and guarantee for admission in IIT for M.tech, you should pursue the course.
Satellite Communication is in demand course and is not very crowded, they are good possibilities of getting job in reputed firms and when a tag of IIT joins you, it becomes even better.

It also depends on the academic background of the author i.e. what was his performance so far at 10th, 12th and graduation level. The type of institute from where the author has completed his graduation also matters. In case there is not proper grounding up to graduation level and the concepts are not crystal clear, then it may prove very challenging to complete M.Tech. program from an IIT. In case the author is able to get admission in M.Tech. course of an IIT and is able to successfully complete the same, then he will have to apply for those jobs which require M.tech. as an qualification. Thus the question of over qualification will not arise at all.

Doing M.Tech from IIT would be advantageous provided you can show your good performance in your studies and the end - result, too, is impressive. Satellite - communication is new area and hence this post graduation degree in this field would bring a positive result. Mobile penetration in the market has led to more invention of additional spectrum such as 3G and 4 G and there are many more possibilities in the coming future in this area.
With more researches in the areas of power, oil and military bases Satellite - communication would grow strong and by having a post graduation degree in Satellite - communication would offer new connectivity requirements.

Getting job should be the priority if you want to be financially stable. And if you have higher aspiration such as studying abroad and getting job offshore then IIT sounds better. Because the campus placements in IIT are much better. Also the financial stability after IIT placement are way higher. You should definitely think about this before applying for either of them. I'd say go ahead and ask for opinion from others. You may also want to talk to parents and go through your financial options too. This is not easy choice but if you look through this with financial mindset then it is possible.

The answer depends upon various factors like your family circumstances, your own inclination and the offers presently received by you. In my opinion, M.Tech from IITs is definitely better from long-term perspective. It would definitely give you an edge after 2 years when you complete your M.Tech. At the same time, you will also get the opportunity to join faculty position of reputed engineering colleges/IITs/universities.
The decision will have to be taken by you only considering the factors mentioned above.
