MBA is most rewarding career, provided the course is done from one of the top 20 b-schools in India. If you go below that, the chances of getting a decent job start going down. Most of these top 20 b-schools have a 100% placement record and the starting salary per annum from placements in these top b-schools may vary from 5 lacs- 20 lacs depending upon the b-school, and the company where you get placed.
Doing MBA from management quota from private management institutes is not worth it. Rather you would prepare and try to clear one of top schools. Still if you want to go for it no one can assure you of a job equivalent to your qualification and salary may be as low as Rs. 10-15'000 per month. Placement records of these institutes is dismal.
All the best !

MBA can offer you a satisfying career provided the same is being persued by top Institutes such as from IIM or Xavier's Institute. This calls for a thorough preparation so that you may secure a high percentile in CAT or you clear the XAT test with a high scoring. Such preparation would appear to be a brain - storming exercise needed to upgrade the mathematical solving problems and at the same time you need to be proficient in English and well versed with the current affairs.
Clearing either of the two tests would brighten your career since in either case, you earn a prestigious Management degree.
Salaries in such cases may range between 20 to 30 lacks annually depending upon your performance in the Interview.
Some aspirants from IIM have secured a job beyond 60 lacks annually from the top fortune companies.
Top 20 B- schools, too, can be considered for admission through MAT test and you may land into a job of 10 to 12 lacks annually from prestigious organisation.
To have a MBA degree from a private college may not give you desired result since there is no dearth of Management - graduates from prestigious Institutions and your placement - prospects would be bleak. At best, you may be offered ? 10,000/- per month despite your best efforts in studies in the college.
