The monkey fruit or the monkey jack known as 'barhar' or 'badhal' in Hindi language is generally not seen in the market. The fruit is edible and is believed to have medicinal value also. What is the nutrition value of the monkey fruit (artocarpus lacucha)? From where it can be obtained in market?

The nutritional value of the Monkey fruit can be summarised as below -

Protein - 2 grams
Fat - 1 gram
Mineral - 1 gram
Fiber - 3 grams
Calcium - 67 mg
Phosphorus - 25 mg

The monkey fruit is a rich source of Vitamin C and beta carotene. It also consists of zinc, copper,manganese and iron. It does help you stay away from cancer and heart diseases.

Monkey Fruit, or Monkey Jack or Barhar is a tropical evergreen tree species of the family Moraceae. It is distributed throughout the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia. The tree is valued for its wood; its fruit is edible and is believed to have medicinal value.
The nutritional value of the Monkey fruit are as follows
Protein: 2 gm
Phosphorus : 25 mg
Fat: 1 gm
Mineral: 1 gm
Calcium : 67 mg
It is used for curing Cancer.
