Why one cannot change photo on Aadhar card?

Date: 15 Jun 2016   Posted By: Paresh Gujarati     Group: Government    Category: Central Government

Aadhar card corrections are for name, address, date of birth and gender but it is not applicable to change of photo or correction in photo or latest photo update etc. Why government is not allowing to change photo or correct the photo? What are the technical reasons for it?

I think technical reason being the persons face and the fingerprints are attached to this ID. So in order to correct them on has to understand how this is verified at first place before even correcting it. It seems the Adhar process is not even ready for such changes and updates. Though technically they are in assumption that there would be no issues in data logging. However recent cases have shown that there is different images attached with the ID. So such corrections due to negligible work will be managed as required. I guess there has to be RTI on this point.
