The eligibility criterion for Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) for different states is same because the eligibility, syllabus, etc. for TET conducted by different states are set by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The eligibility for appearing in TET is Bachelors Degree with Diploma in Education/Diploma in Elementary Education.

A candidate who scores 60% or above marks in TET is considered to have qualified TET and he/she gets a TET certificate issued by the concerned State Government.

The eligibility criteria for TET test is a graduation degree with a minimum 50 percent of marks followed by a B.Ed degree of one year on education. There is a relaxation of marks to the extent of 5 percent for SC/ST/OBC candidates. For the physically handicapped candidates, the relaxation offered is 10 percent provided they can produce a genuine certificate issued by an a competent authority.
The eligibility criteria remains the same for all the states in India.
