    DASA-Direct Admission of Students Abroad, is a scheme of admission operated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development since 2008.
    This Scheme" targets admission for Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin /NonResidents Indians to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (lilTs) and other premier Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTis)."

    This scheme is introduced by the Union Human Resource Development ministry to cater the foreign nationals, persons of Indian origin and Non-resident Indians to study in our Premier National institutions NITs/IIITs/SPAs (Schools of Planning and architecture). Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) would be based on the scores SAT/GMAT/GRE for admission in Under Graduate and Post graduate courses. NIT Srinagar is the coordinating institutes for various NITs/IIITs/SPAs in India for this academic year 2016-17. This scheme was introduced in 2008 and became very helpful for those people from Nepal, Bhutan, Srilanka, African countries, Malaysia and our NRIs.
