Which exam to prepare if there is a two years gap in graduation

Having a gap in graduation? Wondering which exam to prepare for? Find advice from experts on this page.

I am a second year student of B.Sc Hotel management IHM Pusa (3 year degree course). I have a two year gap because I was detained twice for attendance requirements.
Can you advice which exam should I prepare for SSC, CAT or BANK P.O?
    Awaiting advice.

B.Sc. being a recognized degree course, the author is eligible for appearing in all such examinations in which the minimum set eligibility criteria is a graduation degree. However, it is not clear as to why the author wants to desert the field of his core competency i.e. Hospitality & Hotel Administration.
It may be noted that appearing in any examination is no achievement as such. The examination has to be passed also with rank high enough to get short listed for further consideration. Therefore it is imperative that a serious approach should be adopted for cracking any chosen examination.
The author may go through the detailed syllabus of the examinations in which he aspires to appear and then self evaluate himself as to in which course he is likely to excel.
The examinations mentioned by him are in the order of CAT, Bank PO and SSC potential wise, from a general point of view.

You can take plenty of options available for you in the post graduation. Some students do DBM or DBA. Some of the students also benefit from the MCA. Your two year gap then isn't much visible if you're doing the post graduation. This has worked for many engineers who had backlog in the past. You can also appear for the CAT after the DBM but you'd get job in between this process in DBM placement drive.

Bank PO can be a good option if you work hard for exam and placement process. This can even set your career and get you financially set this way. Most of the time bank jobs are much better if you're serious of setting yourself in the career in terms of finance.

Apart from this you may also want to try for the teaching jobs. You may have to appear for respective exams. But that is one good option apart from SSC and CAT.

Yo are now in the second year of your three year graduation course. Only after passing the graduation examination can you apply for jobs where the minimum eligibility is graduation. Some jobs allow students in the final year also to apply and appear for the qualifying tests, with conditions to produce pass certificate on or before a specified date.

Depending on what is your interest and requirement you may start preparing for CAT or Bank PO/SSC.
However please bear in mind that your priority now is to complete and pas the degree course. Put your efforts and try to get a good grade or score which will help you in future endeavours.
You also may need to justify the gap to any interviewer if he asks the question.
If a general job is your priority then Bank PO is relatively less strenuous with more options. But you may also try to get a job in the hotel industry as you have studying that course.
    Best Wishes

Since you are in the second year of B.Sc ( Hotel - management), so it would be best on your part to complete the final degree with impressive marks and in that way, you can go ahead for your interviews related to your course. If you think fit to acquire a Post - graduation degree in the similar line, you can persue the same.
Simply to get a degree is not enough now a days. You have to show your brilliant performance so that you are shortlisted for any interview in which you are likely to appear.
However, by acquiring your degree in Hotel - management, there are several options before you. Relating to your further perusal of careers, it would depend entirely up to you.
However, Banking PO is an attractive choice and the same can be initiated if you desire so. CAT and SSC are also good options provided you have genuine inclinations for these options.
