There is no formal training as such. However most of the city and state level players do come from the academy and through referral. You can find such academy in cities such as Mumbai and Bangalore.

Most of the known cricket players do have their own cricket academy. Through which most of them train the talent. So there is process they decide for the students and get them trained. In such case the performing player is also likely to get referral too. Most likely they can also guide you through other coaches depending on your strength and weakness.

In order to get referred on the state and the national level, such academy can be good. Though not formal but they can be really good for upcoming talents. And also there is a lot of chance of exposure. So make sure you find out the city and state level of academy or the place where you are likely to get such referrals.
