Hi Vilas Though a hemoglobin level of 10mg percent is not much to worry ut one should be alert and take appropriate steps. There may be many causes for fall in hemoglobin like recent illness and fever, malaria, sickle cell anemia etc but the most common is the dietary cause of anemia or low hemoglobin level and that is due to deficiency of iron and vitamins like folic acid and Vitamin B12. Deficiency of folic acid is megaloblastic anemia and that due to vitamin B12 deficiency is pernicious anemia.
There are few measures which should be taken in account to increase hemoglobin level.
Diet to increase hemoglobin
There are some dietery substance which should be avoided as it decreases absorption of iron thus not utilized properly to form haem portion of hemoglobin which needs iron. Leafy vegetables like spinach and beet greens are a rich source of iron and should be increased in diet.
Rich sources of Iron and vitamins to combat anemia or to increase hemoglobin level are lean beef, lean pork, skinned poultry, shellfish, fish, liver, organ meats, egg yolks, pinto, kidney, lima, navy, chick peas, black-eyed peas, lentils, split peas, green peas, spinach, kale, collards, beet greens, chard, broccoli, raisins, prunes, figs, dates, dried peaches, dried apricots, nuts, peanut butter, whole grain breads.
Iron and vitamin supplementation
Though at hemoglobin level of 10 dietary measures are sufficient, but still if you look pale, and feel week, lethargic then iron and vitamin supplements should be taken. There are several forms of iron tonics and capsule available but carbonyl iron should be preferred as it is absorbed more and bioavailability is much higher than nay other iron.
Mind it iron intake may cause constipation and blackening of stool.

Hi, I can suggest you some food which may increase your hemoglobin level the base of the cabbage is v.good, also foods rich in iron spinach tuna beef red meat drum stick leaves juice or mix leaves in chappati and regularly eat it.Drum stick bark are also very useful. Above all get regular updates from your family doctor.
Remedies to Improve Hemoglobin Level Adjusting diet is the correct remedy. Eat a nutritious and a well balanced diet. Meat, specially kidney and liver and all diary products are rich in iron and Vitamin B12. Sour things like curd and fried items should be avoided. Green vegetables are rich in iron and folic acid and as such should be taken in plenty. Jaggery should be taken regularly as these are rich in iron. Groundnuts are rich source of iron.
