Are there special reservations for Jaat candidates in admission and employment?

Date: 14 Aug 2016    Group: Government    Category: Central Government

What is the present Government policy about 'Jaat' reservations? Is there any reservation for the 'Jaat' candidates in admission and employment? In case this is so, then I would like to know more details like the percentage of reservation and the states where it is applicable etc.

Want to know the Central Govt. policy on reservations for Jaat candidates for admissions & jobs? Know more about the current government policy on such reservations.

As far as I know, the Jat community in Rajasthan has been included in the Central OBC list (except the Jats from Dholpur and Bharatpur). On the other hand, in July 2015, Punjab and Haryana High Court has struck down 10% SBC quota implemented by the former Congress-led Haryana State Government for the Jats. BJP-led State Government has appealed against the decision in Hon'ble Supreme Court.

Jats are presently agitating for inclusion in the OBC list in all States where the Jat population is substantial (Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan).
