Earlier Olympics was limited to male participants only. Women were only allowed to enter Olympics through equestrian events. Since women were not well represented in Olympics, there started a rival Women's Olympics. Over the years more and more women athletes were encouraged and well represented in modern Olympics.

There are a few sports that have men and women sportspersons competing with each other.

Motocross

This is one of the sports that does not differentiate between men and women. However, I do not think Olympics has Motocross as one of the competitions. Experts may enlighten me on this.

Equestrian

Though one of the oldest sports, it was possibly the first game to bring equality. Men and women athletes compete with one another in showjumping, dressage, and cross country.

Sailing

Sailing does not segregate men and women participants. However, in Olympics there are separate events for men and women.

Racuet sports

Tennis and Badminton are a couple of racquet sports. The mixed doubles in this game are played between men and women competitors.

In Tennis and Badminton mixed-doubles matches, men and women compete against each other (in mixed pairs). In addition, Equestrian is the only other Olympic event where women compete with men.
