Is there any Government control over fee to be charged by the private schools and colleges?

Want to know the norms for fees charged by private schools and colleges? Wondering if there is government control? Check out responses from experts on this page.

The schools and colleges are required to be recognised by the Government and follow the syllabus prescribed by the concerned boards of the education. However, there is generally a lot of difference in the fee charged by various schools and colleges. Is there any Government control over the fee to be charged by the private schools and colleges?

Well I do not know about the other states but as far as Telangana state is concerned the government is having total control of fees structure being levied and accepted by the private schools and colleges. The schools are advised to follow the set pattern as per their standards and the colleges are also being tamed for not seeking more fees. In fact the government is compensating the difference of high fees through reimbursement process to private colleges. For example every student who has meritorious track record and sought the admission in Engineering college the government is providing 35,000 per year as fees reimbursement and that will directly credit to the college banks accounts. It is the great relief to the parents as they are saved to the tune of 1,40,000 from fee burden. However some formalities has to be completed on line and that is easy procedure too.
