    What is meant by Non Creamy Layer?

    Generally, in the advertisements issued for recruitment in the Government organizations, it is mentioned that certain percentage of posts are reserved for OBC-Non Creamy Layer). What actually it means by non-creamy layer? How the candidates belonging to the OBC (Creamy Layer) are treated for the purpose of reservations?

    OBC are classified into two category one -OBC-Non Creamy Layer, second OBC- Creamy Layer. If the income of the parents ha is up to 6 lakh is under Non Creamy Layer. Above 6 lakh annual income is Creamy Layer.

    OBC- Non Creamy Layer means a candidate is belongs to OBC category listed under Government of India and his/her parents total yearly income is less than 6 Lakh.
    In a judgment Honorable Supreme Court of India has given that candidate's income should be considered to distinguish between Creamy layer and Non Creamy layer. It is totally depend on the income of parents only.

    Non creamy Layer was introduced to give reservation in jobs for OBC.
    OBC was divided into two groups Creamy Layer and Non Creamy Layer. Those people belonging to OBC community and his Parents total annual income is more than 6 Lakh comes under Creamy Layer. Such people are not eligible to take the benefit of reservation in education or job.
    On the other hand those people belonging to OBC community and his Parents total annual income is less than 6 Lakh comes under Non Creamy Layer. Such people are eligible to take the benefit of reservation in education as well as in job also.
