WordPress.com has the domain adding feature too. You have to follow the below instructions to add your purchased domain to WordPress.com blog.

    1. Login to your WordPress.com account.
    2. Go to to the domains page on the dashboard.
    3. Choose "Already own a domain" and click on the upgrade button.
    4. Enter the domain name and click on "Add" button.
    5. Follow the on screen instruction for the nameservers.

Now login to your domain registrars site and add the following namerservers.

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

And after that wait for 48 hours for this to display on your wordpress.com. It should show you the blog added to the new domain.

As you have already registered your domain in Bigrock, you just then need to map it in order to get converted from subdomain to your own domain that you registered. Just login to your wordpress.com account and choose upgrade option where you will be asked to choose suggested domains or map your existing domain that you own at Bigrock (see the attachment below). Note that you have to spend further $13 in order to map it. Click on map it button and type your domain name and then press Add button. Then you will need to enter domain contact information such as your name, email, phone, country and address. Now you have to press on 'Continue to Check out' button and pay the mapping fee $13 online. Once you're done, go to the your domain registrar (bigrock) account and add the name servers such as NS1.WORDPRESS.COM and NS2.WORDPRESS.COM in the appropriate field. Hope these info suffice your query!

Getting a domain name is the first step, if you want to continue using Wordpress.com, you will have to spend quite some money for it. You might want to try other cheaper options.
    1. If you are willing to explore a little, you can setup a free site using Github.com and Jekyll, or look for any other free CMS providers.
    2. If you just want to learn and experiment, try free hosting like 3owl.com and host your own wordpress site.
    3. If you want to setup a professional site, and put some content up there, you can opt for paid hosting like Go Daddy or even Big Rock @ about 99/- per month and host your own wordpress site.
